Brand new release: Gravity Forms 3.2.2

Brand new release Gravity Forms 3.2.2

We’re pleased to announce the release of Gravity Forms 3.2.2. This release includes a variety of updates and fixes including…

  • Added security enhancements.
  • Added functionality to forms that require login to check if the user has been logged out before submission and let them re-authenticate without losing any of their unsubmitted form data.
  • Added an accessibility improvement to disable animations for users who prefer reduced motion.

Never lose a submission to an expired session

Long forms take time to fill out, and sometimes a user’s login session expires before they hit submit. Until now, a form that requires login would show its Require Login Message and reject the submission, leaving the user to log back in and start over.

In Gravity Forms 3.2.2, forms that require login run an extra check just before submission to confirm the user is still logged in. If their session has expired, a pop-up lets them sign back in on the spot, and everything they’ve already entered stays in place, ready to submit.

That’s good news for applications, member portals, internal requests, and any other form where users take their time.

Animations that respect reduced motion

The Animated transitions form setting adds a smooth reveal when conditional logic shows or hides fields. For some users, though, on-screen motion is distracting or uncomfortable, and many turn on a “reduce motion” preference in their operating system for exactly that reason.

Gravity Forms now checks for that preference. When a visitor has reduced motion enabled, conditional logic fields simply appear and disappear without the animated transition, even if Animated transitions is turned on for the form. Everyone else still sees the animation, and there’s nothing for you to configure.

Note: After updating, clear your site’s cache to ensure you’re running the latest version. We also recommend excluding pages that include Gravity Forms from caching and script optimization, as cached form pages can interfere with dynamic population, field validation, honeypot, and add-ons that rely on time-sensitive tokens.

Read our FAQ on Cache and Script Optimizer Issues for details and exclusion steps by host/plugin.
