We are pleased to announce that we’ve updated Signature. With Signature 4.10 you’ll find a number of updates…
- Added security enhancements
- Added the “Type Your Signature” feature to improve accessibility.
- Made several accessibility improvements to the Signature field, including screen reader support for field labels and validation messages, and a fix for an issue where the field could be skipped when tabbing through a form.
- Updated signature image quality.
Note: This release also raises the minimum required Gravity Forms version to 3.0.3 – if you’re running an older version of core, update Gravity Forms first before updating Signature.
Now signers can type instead of draw

Not everyone signs comfortably with a mouse, trackpad, or finger on a touchscreen, and for some people with motor or dexterity differences, drawing a signature by hand isn’t practical at all. Signature 4.10 adds a “Type Your Signature” option, so form fillers can type their name and have it rendered in a signature-style font instead of drawing it.
This sits alongside the existing draw-to-sign experience, so signers can choose whichever method works best for them, and the result is saved the same way as any other signature: as a PNG file attached to the entry.
Collect signatures directly in your forms
The Gravity Forms Signature feature lets you capture electronic signatures on contracts, agreements, waivers, and applications without ever leaving your WordPress form. Signatures are saved as PNG images and attached to the entry, so you have a permanent record of every signed submission.
Because Signature works on desktop, tablet, and phone with a mouse, touchpad, or touchscreen, and needs no browser plugins, you can collect signed agreements from anyone, wherever they happen to be filling out your form.
Key features of Signature
- Type or draw – Let signers type their name in a signature-style font or draw their signature by hand, whichever is easier for them.
- Works everywhere – Collect signatures on desktop, tablet, or phone with a mouse, touchpad, touchscreen, or stylus, no browser plugins required.
- Automatic entry attachments – Every signature is saved as a PNG file and attached directly to the form entry.
- Customizable signature pad – Adjust pen color, border, and size to match your form’s design.
- Dashboard and PDF ready – View signatures in the entry details or include them in generated PDFs.
The Signature feature is available on the Gravity Forms Elite and Nonprofit licenses. For more information about setting up the Signature Add-On, be sure to check out the Gravity Forms documentation.
