Conversational Forms Add-On: Install the Beta!

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Conversational Forms Add-On. Currently in beta, the Conversational Forms Add-On will allow you to create a more interactive and engaging experience for your users. This will help to not only improve the quality of data captured but importantly to boost form completion rates.

The Conversational Forms Add-On is in beta and we are asking members of our community to install the add-on and provide us with feedback. It is important to note that after the beta period ends, the Conversational Forms Add-On will only be available with an Elite license. However, while in beta, this add-on can be installed and tested by anyone with an active Gravity Forms license.

Conversational Forms: All You Need to Know!
With the new Conversational Forms Add-On, you can give your users a conversational and more personal experience via the forms on your site.
Here’s another example of a conversational form that you can create with this new add-on.
Conversational forms allow you to better connect with your customers by simply asking one question at a time. Using this approach, forms appear more interactive and less daunting, helping to engage users and remove barriers to completion.
Our new Conversational Forms Add-On is quick and easy to set up, involves no code, and gives you numerous options over the look and feel of your forms. To get started, simply create a form in the normal way, then select the Conversational Forms Settings tab within the form editor to customize the design to suit your requirements.
Within the Form Design settings you can:
- Select one of three layouts
- Customize form colors
- Upload a logo or background image
- Add a welcome screen
- Enable a progress bar

Install the Conversational Forms Add-On Today!
As is normal for a beta, we can’t guarantee a totally smooth ride. Therefore, please note that we do not recommend the Conversational Forms Add-On beta for use on production sites – you should only install and test the beta in a sandbox environment.
It is also important to note, the Conversational Forms Add-On beta requires Gravity Forms 2.7 RC 2 (or higher).
Follow these steps to install the Conversational Forms Add-On on your test site…
- Open your Gravity Forms Account and under Your Downloads scroll down to Pre-release where you will find the Conversational Forms Add-On.
(Note: Once out of beta, the Conversational Forms Add-On will be available with the Elite license. However, while in beta, this add-on can be installed by anyone with an active Gravity Forms license).
- Download the Conversational Forms Add-On.
(Note: Files will download in the ZIP archive file format. Do not unzip it or allow your browser to unzip it automatically. When you install it, you should upload it in the ZIP format).
- Open your development site WordPress dashboard and select Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. Then select the Conversational Forms Add-On zip file and Install > Activate it on your website.

Best Practice for Testing the Conversational Forms Add-On Beta
Here are a few top tips and resources to help you get started with the new Conversational Forms Add-On…
- Don’t Install Conversational Forms Beta on Your Live Site – The Conversational Forms Add-On has been released as a beta and is not recommended for production sites. You should only install and test the beta in a sandbox environment – even if you test the add-on and think everything is working, you should still not use it on your live site.
- Gravity Forms 2.7 RC 2 – The Conversational Forms Add-On beta requires Gravity Forms 2.7 RC 2 (or higher). For more information on Gravity Forms 2.7 RC, read the 2.7 documentation.
- Check Out the Gravity Forms Docs – Documentation to assist with the setup of the Conversational Forms Add-On is provided on our Documentation site. If you have feedback about the documentation, send your comments or suggestions to our Support team.
- Question for Support? – You can reach out via our normal help channels if you have questions about setting up or using the add-on.
- Give Us Feedback – The beta period enables us to collect feedback from our customers – if you have any questions, concerns, or come across any issues that we may need to know about, again please contact our Support team.
- After the Beta Period an Elite License Will Be Required – As mentioned, the Conversational Forms Add-On has been released as an open beta and can be installed and tested by anyone with an active Gravity Forms license. However, once the add-on is officially out of beta, it will only be available with an Elite license.
