GravityMigrate: Migrate Gravity Forms data

Migrate all Gravity Forms data between sites, including forms, entries, settings, Views, feeds, and file uploads, and import forms from other form plugins

GravityMigrate: Migrate Gravity Forms data

Rebuilding a Gravity Forms setup by hand on a new site means recreating every form, then finding the entries, uploaded files, Views, and add-on feeds that went with it. GravityMigrate moves all of it between WordPress sites in one migration file. It also moves forms between Gravity Forms and seven other WordPress form plugins, in either direction, and shows you what each form keeps and what changes before anything runs.

Move your Gravity Forms setup to another site

Export a migration file on the old site, then import it on the new one. A guided wizard walks you through both halves, and the migration runs in the background, so you can close the tab and come back to a summary of what moved.

✅ Forms with their calculations, conditional logic, notifications, confirmations, and nested forms
✅ Entries, including drafts saved to finish later, and the files people uploaded
✅ GravityView Views, plus the pages and posts that embed your forms or Views
✅ Add-on feeds for Zapier, Mailchimp, Stripe, User Registration, and every other add-on
✅ Gravity Flow workflows and their history
✅ Gravity Forms, GravityKit, and GravityView settings, when you choose to include them

Forms and entries get new ID numbers on the new site. GravityMigrate updates the Views, shortcodes, and blocks that travel with them, so everything points at the right form.

Choose exactly what goes in the file

Pick the forms you want to move, then pick the data that goes with them. The list only shows the kinds of data your site actually has, and settings stay off by default because they carry license keys and API credentials.

✅ Pack uploaded files inside the migration file, so the import still works after the old site goes offline
✅ Limit the export to entries submitted within a date range
✅ Protect the migration file with a password
✅ Imports add new copies and never overwrite forms already on the site

Move forms between Gravity Forms and other form plugins

GravityMigrate rebuilds forms from Contact Form 7, Fluent Forms, Formidable Forms, Forminator, Ninja Forms, WPForms, and WS Form as Gravity Forms forms. It also copies Gravity Forms forms into any of those plugins. Install both plugins on the same site, choose the forms, and run the migration.

✅ Fields and labels in their original order, page breaks included
✅ Choices, with the values stored behind them
✅ Required settings, placeholders, and default values
✅ Conditional logic, pointed at the new form’s field IDs
✅ Notifications and confirmations, with merge tags rewritten for the other plugin

Only the forms move. Entries stay in the plugin that collected them.

See what changes before a form migrates

Form plugins don’t all support the same things. Contact Form 7 has no conditional logic, and Ninja Forms has no URL field. Before anything runs, GravityMigrate lists what each form keeps, what changes, and what the other plugin can’t hold.

✅ Open a field-by-field table for any form
✅ Read the modifications for each form before you continue
✅ Untick any form you’d rather rebuild by hand

Run migrations from WP-CLI or an AI assistant

Every migration can run from WP-CLI, including a dry run that reports field-by-field results without writing anything. You can also connect Claude, or another AI assistant, to your site with the GravityKit MCP and ask it to dry-run a migration, move forms between plugins, or pack up a whole site’s Gravity Forms data.

Use cases

  • Staging to production: Build and test forms and Views on a staging site, then move them to the live site in one file instead of rebuilding them.
  • Changing hosts: Pack the uploaded files into the migration file, and the import works even after the old hosting account is closed.
  • Leaving another form plugin: Recreate your WPForms, Ninja Forms, or Contact Form 7 forms in Gravity Forms. To bring the entries too, export them to CSV and import them with GravityImport.
  • One form builder across client sites: Agencies can move clients on Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, or Contact Form 7 onto Gravity Forms and support one form builder instead of several.
  • Reusing a finished build: Export a working setup once, with its forms, Views, and feeds, and import it on each new site that needs it.

FAQs

Do I need Gravity Forms to migrate between two other form plugins?
Yes. Every GravityMigrate migration has Gravity Forms on one side, and Gravity Forms has to be installed and active on the site. To move forms from Ninja Forms to WPForms, for example, run two migrations: import the forms into Gravity Forms, then export them to WPForms.

Will a migration overwrite forms that are already on the new site?
No. Every form in the migration file arrives as a new form, and every entry arrives as a new entry inside it. A form whose title is already taken gets a number added, so a second “Contact us” arrives as “Contact us (1)”.

Can I undo a migration?
No. Once an import starts, it can’t be undone, so take a backup of the new site first. The wizard reminds you before the import begins.

How is GravityMigrate different from GravityImport?
GravityImport brings entries into Gravity Forms from a CSV file, which suits data that starts outside WordPress or in another tool. GravityMigrate moves a whole Gravity Forms setup from one WordPress site to another, and moves forms to and from seven other form plugins.

Does GravityMigrate work with WordPress multisite?
Yes. GravityMigrate works with WordPress multisite installations.
