Coming Up This Week at WordCamp Europe
WordCamp EU is always an exciting event, and this year is no exception. During the three-day WordCamp virtual conference, attendees can expect a packed line up, with talks, interviews, discussions, and workshops covering a plethora of WordPress topics.
The WordPress community believes strongly in an ethos of inclusivity, which is clearly reflected in the broad selection of subjects covered, aimed at all levels of WordPress knowledge and experience.

- Enhancing the Accessibility of a Plugin (A Use Case) – We are excited that our very own Morgan Kay will be speaking at WCEU, alongside Rian Rietveld from Level Level, sharing the accessibility journey that Gravity Forms has undertaken over the past couple of years.
- All Code is Legacy Code – Run by Sarah Pantry, a leading developer at WordPress VIP, part of the Automattic family, this talk discusses the importance of leaving code as you would like to inherit it, and how your code, projects, and secrets, are the legacy you leave behind!
- Effective Tips to Establishing and Maintaining Successful Partnerships – Hosted by Radost Dacheva, Key Partnership Manager at SiteGround, this chat shares insight, strategy, and tactics into building and maintaining successful partnerships.
- How Contributors Make WordPress (Discussion) – Join Christopher Churchill and Abha Thakor as they speak to contributors who have been involved in major releases and projects within WordPress.org. They will explore the panel members’ favourite aspects of taking part, the impact it is possible to make, and what contributing has taught them.
- Conversation with Matt Mullenweg – Don’t miss the keynote talk with Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of the open-source platform, WordPress, and the founder & CEO of Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, and Jetpack.

Alongside the WordCamp talks, there will be a number of hands-on workshops. Here are a selection of sessions that we recommend you don’t miss…
- A Walk Through of Full Site Editing – During this workshop, Herb Miller will give a short tour of Full Site Editing (FSE) from his perspective as a contributor to the outreach experiment for this major development in WordPress.
- How to Start Designing for WordPress.org – In this workshop, Javier Arce (Product Designer at Automattic and member of the Design Team at WordPress.org), will share some practical tips and tricks on how to start designing for WordPress.org using Figma.
- Getting Started Translating WordPress, Themes, and Plugins, into Different Languages – Presenters representing the Polyglots Team, Theo Gkitsos and Tor-Bjorn Fjellner, will discuss the benefits of getting involved with your local translation team and how to get your translations approved, so others can benefit from your contributions.
