Gravity Forms CLI v1.0-RC-1 Released

Gravity Forms CLI v1.0 Release Candidate 1 is now available in the WordPress plugin repository.

The CLI allows users to manage forms, entries and notifications on the command line. It supports import and export for both forms and entries and will resend notifications for individual entries. It also provides a way to install and update the latest hotfixes for Gravity Forms and all official add-ons. Hotfixes are frequent releases that are otherwise only available as downloads and are not deployed via auto-update.

The CLI Add-On is intended to be used by power-users, developers, managed WordPress hosts and system administrators and requires the WP-CLI to be installed on the site.

This is likely to be the last version before the final release so we encourage all users to send in their feedback now.

Gravity Forms CLI v1.0-rc-1 Changelog

  • Added the --file arg to the wp gf form update command to allow forms to be updated from an export file.
  • Fixed a fatal error when using the install command.

That's great news! This will probably improve some typo changes and will involve a new learning curve. However, i think it's a great addition to GravityForms.

One thing i noticed is that this needs to be installed as a WP plugin. Why not bundle the API into gravityforms (or as an addon) and link the endpoints directly in a plugin that can access it ?

I think this should allow us to install it as a wp-cli package too, simply using `wp-cli package install gravityformscli` instead of manually installing it each WP install.
