The first, and arguably most important, step to making your email marketing strategy thrive is to ensure the emails you’re collecting actually get to the person behind them. Otherwise, why collect emails in the first place?

GP Email Validator is a simple yet mighty spell that ensures emails coming through Gravity Forms are the real deal. It comes with domain validation and two types of email address validation:

  • Basic Validation: A convenient plug-and-play solution that blocks emails like `[email protected]` locally.
  • Email Verification: A spellbinding analytical tool powered by two mainline verification services for full-fledged email marketing efforts.

Let’s explore!

Gravity Wiz is a third-party certified developer and its add-ons are not supported by Gravity Forms. As always, we recommend you extensively evaluate all plugins to ensure their suitability for your purpose before installation on your website.

Validate emails before submission

Email Validator’s Basic Validator keeps email lists squeaky clean using local validation. It stops invalid emails in their tracks the moment Email Validator is activated.

Out of the box, you can also:

  • Block disposable email addresses to avoid one-off emails that don’t keep the conversation going.
  • Flag Gmail accounts that use the “plus trick” and save the sanitized email to the entry.
  • Block free email accounts (like Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) if you’re only looking to connect to professional/educational email addresses.

Block or allow domains

Nip undesired emails in the bud with domain validation. Block known spammer domain addresses or only allow select domains to submit to your forms. Targeting top-level domains such as `.gov` is supported, too.

Take it further with email verification

If you’re looking to up your defenses and your email marketing game, Email Validator offers tight integrations with two email verification services: Kickbox and ZeroBounce. These services check each email to confirm they actually exist and provide additional details, like if the email is from an undesirable domain or if it’s a (spam) trap.

Here are other features these integrations unlock:

Get email insights

Understand why emails were flagged with the Technical Details breakdown. Protect your deliverability score by making more informed decisions on who gets to sit with you at lunch — I mean, stay in your list.

Not familiar with deliverability scores? Our Email Validator Workshop goes over the details with a magical Email Validator demo to boot.

Leverage validation statuses

Validation statuses (i.e. “Risky”, “Undeliverable”) are accessible by Gravity Forms tools, enabling convenient information-based automations. For example:

  • Filter entries with risky emails when managing your lists.
  • Set up notification conditional logic if anything risky comes through.

Prevent typos

Help users fix typos in real time with Kickbox’s “Did you mean?” feature. This user-friendly spell conjures up a suggestion whenever Kickbox detects a typo or syntax error as the user fills out the form.
