“I just wanted to say that this is something that I wanted for YEARS. I was always like, why can’t I just use Gravity Forms to build WooCommerce products?!”

This is what Gravity Forms user Sarah Schumacher shared with us. And anyone building eCommerce into Gravity Forms knows the struggle. Getting sophisticated functionality (like that offered by WooCommerce) within existing Gravity Forms builds can feel like a herculean undertaking.

Existing plugins and integrations are either disjointed, too pricey, or clunky. Sometimes all at once. Nothing feels intuitive or easy.

Enter: Gravity Shop Product Configurator. This month’s featured add-on was built specifically to address these problems. It comes directly from a need widely echoed in the Gravity Forms and greater WordPress community.

Product Configurator creates a native integration between two giants. The control and customization of Gravity Forms, joining forces with the advanced functionality of WooCommerce. And it will transform how you do eCommerce!

Let’s explore what makes it unique.

Gravity Wiz is a third-party certified developer and its add-ons are not supported by Gravity Forms. As always, we recommend you extensively evaluate all plugins to ensure their suitability for your purpose before installation on your website.

What’s Gravity Shop Product Configurator?

Gravity Shop Product Configurator provides a simple way to design and customize WooCommerce products, using Gravity Forms.

Here’s how it works:

  • Embed a Gravity Form on a WooCommerce product page and modify the product using Gravity Forms.
  • When customers interact with your form (i.e. your product), events match natively between both platforms — and ecosystems.variable-subscriptions

Of course, other solutions can do this. How is this different?

A Seamless Integration Between Both Ecosystems

Product Configurator has been engineered from the ground up to adhere to best practices from both Gravity Forms and WooCommerce APIs, singing beautifully in unison to both.

The result is an integration that feels native and works seamlessly. No clunk, no hacks. And because of the deep connection, core functionality from both plugins work together while opening the door to painless integrations with most plugins in both ecosystems.

Gravity Forms Functionality in WooCommerce Products

Core Gravity Forms functionality like conditional logic, honeypots, AJAX support, multi-page forms, file uploads, and more come with you into your WooCommerce products.

This also means WooCommerce-aware conditional logic in your forms, and full control over product descriptions in the cart, checkout, and order details.

Advanced eCommerce Functionality in Gravity Forms

The depth of the integration works both ways. If your business processes already exist in Gravity Forms — and its developer ecosystem — you can leverage advanced eCommerce functionality without reinventing the wheel.

Essential functionality like payment gateway integrations, taxes, shipping, reporting, subscription products (including variable subscription types), and other WooCommerce features become naturally linked with your Gravity Forms workflow.

Entries, Carts, Checkouts, Abandonments Become Linked

Product Configurator can link Gravity Forms entries to WooCommerce cart items from the start of the checkout process all the way through, including cart abandonment, product purchase, and post-purchase.

One example. Using linked entries, you can sync Gravity Forms notifications with WooCommerce order steps. When someone abandons their cart, Gravity Forms notifications can be scheduled (i.e. using Notification Scheduler) to send them a follow-up. This could also be applied to something like a post-purchase survey, or upselling another product some time later.

Any automations or integrations you manage through Gravity Forms can now be leveraged with the checkout process.

Send Order Data to Google Sheets, Dynamically Populate User Data, and More with Gravity Perks

Product Configurator integrates with most plugins in both ecosystems, and this includes Gravity Perks, a collection of nearly 50 Gravity Forms plugins that help you do (a heck of a lot) more with Gravity Forms, without needing code. And we couldn’t not touch on a few awesome examples.

Animated Multi-page Product Forms

Gravity Forms Page Transitions can bring your forms to life with buttery transitions between form pages and with automatic page progression. The same can be applied to your WooCommerce products, powering a smooth, conversion-optimized user experience.

Send Order Data to Google Sheets

Since orders powered in-part with Product Configurator always have an entry attached, you can use a plugin like Gravity Forms Google Sheets to send order data to your spreadsheets, and if you want, populate that order data back into Gravity Forms using Populate Anything.

Google Sheets may be known for its collaborative features, integrations, and quick formulas, but for large data sets or complex orders, it can be particularly helpful when organizing and analyzing that data at scale.

The best part: you can delay syncing with Google Sheets until after an order has been marked as paid.

Collect Repeatable Data

Gravity Forms Nested Forms unlocks repeatable data collection through “nesting” forms within one another, which can be done infinitely. In the context of Product Configurator, forms on your store’s product page can become nested as well.

There’s plenty more we could cover here (there are 47 perks as of writing this), but we’ll leave you with two more:

We encourage you to explore what else you can do! For the full list, head over to Gravity Perks.

What’s Gravity Shop?

Gravity Shop is a Gravity Wiz product line (distinct from Gravity Perks) exploring ways to bridge the flexibility of Gravity Forms with the eCommerce prowess of WooCommerce. Gravity Perks remains Gravity Wiz’s flagship product line (and one true love), but both product lines have big things coming.

How to get Product Configurator

Product Configurator was built to answer the call of a hungry community… it will continue to be optimized, and there has already been a lot of great feedback so far.

For example, here’s what Chad Smith of Commercial Real Estate Signs shared with us.

“When I heard you were releasing the Gravity Shop series I knew this was going to be a game changer for us as a company. After testing and experimenting with [Product Configurator with Gravity Perks] it has become clear that we can finally migrate to online sales even while offering products that have so much customization that it would have been impossible before.”

Whether you are a heavy Gravity Forms user looking for advanced eCommerce features, or you just need more control over WooCommerce products, Product Configurator is here and ready to help.
