Brand New Release: Conversational Forms Add-On Beta 6

We are pleased to announce the release of Conversational Forms beta 6. With the new Conversational Forms Add-On, you can now create a more interactive and engaging experience for your users.

The Conversational Forms Add-On is currently in beta and we appreciate the feedback we have received from the community so far. It is important to note that after the beta period ends, the Conversational Forms Add-On will only be available with an Elite license. However, while in beta, this add-on can be installed and tested by anyone with an active Gravity Forms license.

Our new Conversational Forms Add-On is quick and easy to set up, involves no code, and gives you numerous options over the look and feel of your forms.

Conversational forms allow you to better connect with your customers by simply asking one question at a time. Using this approach, you can give your users a conversational and more personal experience via the forms on your site. Forms also appear less daunting, helping to engage users and remove barriers to completion.

Install Conversational Forms Beta 6

Ready to test Conversational Forms? Follow these steps to install the Conversational Forms Add-On on your test site…

Note: We do not recommend the Conversational Forms Add-On beta for use on production sites – you should only install and test the beta in a sandbox environment.

1. Open your Gravity Forms Account and under Your Downloads scroll down to Pre-release where you will find the Conversational Forms Add-On v1.0 beta 6.

Note: Once out of beta, the Conversational Forms Add-On will be available with the Elite license. However, while in beta, this add-on can be installed by anyone with an active Gravity Forms license.

2. Download the Conversational Forms Add-On.

Note: Files will download in the ZIP archive file format. Do not unzip it or allow your browser to unzip it automatically. When you install it, you should upload it in the ZIP format.

3. Open your development site WordPress dashboard and select Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. Then select the Conversational Forms Add-On zip file and Install > Activate it on your website.

Note: The Conversational Forms Add-On beta requires Gravity Forms 2.7.6 (or higher).

Best Practice for Testing the Conversational Forms Add-On Beta

Here are a few top tips and resources to help you get started with the new Conversational Forms Add-On…

• Don’t Install Conversational Forms Beta on Your Live Site – The Conversational Forms Add-On has been released as a beta and is not recommended for production sites. You should only install and test the beta in a sandbox environment – even if you test the add-on and think everything is working, you should still not use it on your live site.

• Gravity Forms 2.7 – Conversational Forms Add-On beta 6 requires Gravity Forms 2.7.6 (or higher). For more information on Gravity Forms 2.7, read the 2.7 documentation.

• Check Out the Gravity Forms Docs – Documentation to assist with the setup of the Conversational Forms Add-On is provided on our Documentation site. If you have feedback about the documentation, send your comments or suggestions to our Support team.

• Question for Support? – You can reach out via our normal help channels if you have questions about setting up or using the add-on.

• Give Us Feedback – The beta period enables us to collect feedback from our customers – if you have any questions, concerns, or come across any issues that we may need to know about, again please contact our Support team.

• After the Beta Period an Elite License Will Be Required – As mentioned, the Conversational Forms Add-On has been released as an open beta and can be installed and tested by anyone with an active Gravity Forms license. However, once the add-on is officially out of beta, it will only be available with an Elite license.

Conversational Forms Add-On Beta 6 Changelog

• Fixed an issue where the form is broken if the user enters the URL with a different case than the saved permalink.
• Fixed an issue where you cannot advance through a conversational form if a field’s width is less than full-width.
• Fixed a bug that strips HTML tags from field custom validation messages.
• Fixed an issue where conditional logic is not being applied when “enter” is pressed too quickly.
• Fixed an issue where the background image appears on mobile screens when a field is tall enough to require scrolling.
• Fixed a bug that causes the settings slider control not to render properly in Firefox.
• Updated the form settings to show an error message if the form has Legacy Markup enabled.
• Updated the settings color picker component to be more accessible.
• Removed the requirement from the welcome image alternate text field and updated the image recommended sizes.
