With this add-on, you can expect further integration between Gravity Forms and Akismet, helping to provide Akismet with accurate form data and consequently providing more reliable results when it comes to spam filtering.

Filter Out Spam Form Entries with the Gravity Forms Akismet Add-On

Akismet is a leading spam protection solution, used by millions of websites, that filters hundreds of millions of spam comments and form entries everyday.

Although Gravity Forms already has built-in support for Akismet, the Akismet Add-On has been created to further improve the integration between our plugin and this service. With the Gravity Forms Akismet Add-On, you can now send more accurate form data to Akismet, helping to significantly improve the identification of spam form entries.

Preventing Spam

The Gravity Forms Add-On works in conjunction with the Akismet Spam Protection plugin, checking form submissions against the Akismet global database of spam. Submissions identified as spam by Akismet will then have their entry property set to spam. This prevents form notifications being sent and add-ons processing the information submitted.

Reliable Results

To ensure Akismet filters your form entries correctly, you need to ensure you are sending accurate data to the service. The Gravity Forms Akismet Add-On allows you to map your form fields to ensure the correct field data is sent to Akismet, helping to train Akismet to identify and filter out form entries that are spam.

This is particularly useful for more complex forms, and can not only increase the amount of spam submissions that are identified, but also ensure that legitimate entries aren’t labelled as spam.

Marking Form Entries

Spam submissions can be reviewed in the Entries area of the form. Marking an entry as spam or not spam, using the features available on the entries and entry detail pages, will notify Akismet, helping to train their filters.
